Graduate Student Mentorship Program

The GEICS group at McMaster University began organizing a mentorship program in 2021.

The goal of this program is to provide new and incoming graduate students with an informal space to discuss topics ranging from Chemistry and Chemical Biology departmental procedures (such as committee meetings, comprehensive exams, etc.), courses, things to do around Hamilton, and ways to get involved in the department.

It’s a way to connect with each other and to develop new relationships!

As a graduate student mentors, some duties include:

  • running meetings with mentees

  • answering questions from mentees, via email/DM or at meetings

  • communicating with GEICS in case any questions or concerns arise

If you'd like to be a mentor (or mentee) in the mentorship program, please reach out to a member of GEICS (emails listed in the "Members" page). The program typically runs at the beginning of the Fall and Winter semesters.
